Persuasive Strategies Used by Agung Sedayu Group in the Infomercial, Metro TV

This study is conducted to find out the types of persuasive strategies which were used in Agung Sedayu Group's infomercial. It is aimed to seek the types of persuasive strategies used by the hosts and the representative team of Agung Sedayu Group in the infomercial. The writer uses the theories of persuasive strategies by Beebe (2012). The types of persuasive strategies theories are enhancing your credibility, using logic and evidence, and using emotion to persuade. In addition, the writer uses theory of social factor by Holmes (2001) as the supporting theory. This research uses qualitative supported by quantitative methods to reveal which strategy that mostly used by the participants. In the analysis, the writer found out that the most dominant persuasive strategy used by the hosts is using emotion to persuade 161 (31.8%). Moreover, the most dominant persuasive strategy used by the representative team is enhancing your credibility 113 (22.3%)

An Integrated Software-based Solution for Modular and Self-independent Networked Robot

An integrated software-based solution for a modular and self-independent networked robot is introduced. The wirelessly operatable robot has been developed mainly for autonomous monitoring works with full control over web. The integrated software solution covers three components : a) the digital signal processing unit for data retrieval and monitoring system; b) the externally executable codes for control system; and c) the web programming for interfacing the end-users with the robot. Islamic capital market is the investment alternatives in accordance with Islamic law. However, the purpose of investing is to obtain a high return stock. This study aimed to analyze the fundamental factors in predicting stock return of sharia with systematic risk as a mediating variable. Fundamental factors measured by DER, EPS, ROA, PER and NPM and systematic risk measured by beta. Data taken from the Islamic capital market through the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) in a span of research in 2013 and 2014. The analysis used is multiple regression analysis and Sobel test. The results showed that DER and PER positive effect on sharia stock return, beta negative effect on sharia stock return and EPS, ROA and NPM no effect on sharia stock return. Whereas in mediating variable testing, the beta did not mediate the relationship between DER, EPS, ROA, NPM and PER to sharia stock return

The Effect of the Addition of Surimi Fish Catfish Dumbo (Clarias Gariepinus) on the Quality of the Fish Nugget

This study was aimed to determine the effect of the number of catfish surimi added on the quality of the fish nuggets. The study used experiment method with completely randomized design, consisting of a 5 level of the treatment, those were N0 (adding with minced fish meat 500 g), N1 (adding with surimi 500 g), N2 (adding with surimi 475 g), N3 (adding with surimi 450 g), and N4 (adding with surimi 425 g). The results showed that addition of 500 g African catfish surimi produced the best quality of the nugget, indicated by: the appearance tidy, clean, and a brownish yellow color; the taste of fish flavored); the aroma of fish quite noticeably; and the texture was solid, very compact, and chewy. It contained moisture 55.19%, protein 16.04%, fat 7.77% and ash 1.97%

Determinants of Financial Performance in the Indonesian Islamic Insurance Industry

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the board of directors as an operating executive, as the company's supervisory board of commissioners, the proportion of managerial ownership and institutional ownership as well as leverage on the financial performance of Islamic insurance industry. The method used is multiple regression analysis and Moderated Regression Analysis. Data of company successfully researched as many as 15 Islamic insurance companies in Indonesia with a study period of 2011 to 2015. The results showed that the board does not affect the financial performance of Takaful. Commissioners, managerial ownership, institutional ownership and leverage positive effect on the financial performance of Islamic insurance industry in Indonesia. The size of the company weakens the relationship between the number of directors and leverage to financial performance, and did not moderate the relationship between the number of commissioners, managerial ownership and institutional ownership of the financial performance of Islamic insurance industry..DOI: 10.15408/etk.v16i1.464

Thermodynamic Property Model of Wide-Fluid Phase Propane

A new thermodynamic property model for propane is expressed in form of the Helmholtz free energy function. It consists of eight terms of the ideal-gas part and eighteen terms of the residual part. Accurate experimental data of fluid properties and theoretical approach from the intermolecular potential were simultaneously considered in the development to insure accuracy and to improve reliability of the equation of state over wide range of pressures and temperatures. Based on the state range of experimental data used in the model development, the validity range is judged from the triple-point of 85.48 K to temperature of 450 K and pressure up to 60 MPa. The uncertainties with respect to different properties are estimated to be within 0.03% in ideal-gas isobaric specific heat, 0.2% in liquid phase density, 0.3% in gaseous phase density 1% in specific heats, 0.1% in vapor-pressure except at very low temperatures, 0.05% in saturated-liquid density, 0.02% in speed of sound of the gaseous phase and 1% in speed of sound of the liquid phase
